In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. If the total value of your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand, you win an equal amount to what you have bet. Aces have a value of either 1 or 11, face cards as 10 and the cards that are left are valued as their face numbers. Players and Personnel One dealer - Handles all of the cards and chip exchanges. One to either Five or Seven players at a table. A winning blackjack pays the player 3 to 2. HIT or STAND - Hit means to draw another card (which the player signifies by scraping the table with his cards or a similar hand motion) If the player hits and busts (goes over 21), he immediately turns his cards over and his wager is lost. Players place their bets prior to the cards being dealt. SPLITTING PAIRS - If the first two cards a player is dealt are a pair, he may split them into two separate hands, bet the same amount on each and then play them separately. Aces receive only one additional card. If you have been dealt two cards and think that a third card may give you a chance to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. Note that at many online casinos, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. Any other card means a win for the dealer. Note that at some online casinos, you cannot split a split hand. Insurance is not recommended and is considered a separate game/bet of its own. You can play Blackjack either for fun (Fun Play) or for real money (Real Play) Once all players have decided to "Stand," the dealer reveals the face down card known as the "Hole" card. If you have purchased insurance and the dealer doesn't have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet. Surrender is not offered at very many online casinos.
