In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. He does this by placing his bet in the designated space in front of his table position. INSURANCE - If the dealer's up card is an ace, the player may take insurance, a bet not exceeding one-half his original bet. Each card in Blackjack has a certain value. Any other card means a win for the dealer. Note that at some online casinos, you cannot split a split hand. Insurance is not recommended and is considered a separate game/bet of its own.
