In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. If you have a blackjack hand, you win 3:2 times your bet (example - a $5 bet will win $7.50), as long as the dealer does not have blackjack. Aces have a value of either 1 or 11, face cards as 10 and the cards that are left are valued as their face numbers. Because you can play an Ace either way, a hand with an ace is called a soft hand. One to either Five or Seven players at a table. Going over 21 is called "Busting. Stand means no more cards (which the player signals by placing his cards under his wager or moving his hand in a horizontal direction. DOUBLE DOWN - The player is allowed to double the bet on his first two cards and draw one additional card only to improve his hand. Tables and online casinos will have a minimum bet required to play the game. Once all bets are placed, each player and the dealer will receive two cards. If you have been dealt two cards and think that a third card may give you a chance to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. Split - If your first two cards are of the same value, you can split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet of equal value and drawing cards as usual. Note that at many online casinos, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. Any other card means a win for the dealer. SURRENDER - Where permitted, a player may give up his first two cards and lose only one-half his original bet. Insurance is not recommended and is considered a separate game/bet of its own. You can play Blackjack either for fun (Fun Play) or for real money (Real Play) Once all players have decided to "Stand," the dealer reveals the face down card known as the "Hole" card. If the dealer's hand is between 17 and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. If you have purchased insurance and the dealer doesn't have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet. Surrender is not offered at very many online casinos.
