Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. Standard 52-card deck. Face cards (kings, queens and jacks) count as 10, ace counts as one or 11 (as the player chooses) and all other cards are counted at their face value. Because you can play an Ace either way, a hand with an ace is called a soft hand. if the dealer has a blackjack, it is a standoff, as are all ties or pushes. Stand means no more cards (which the player signals by placing his cards under his wager or moving his hand in a horizontal direction. Players place their bets prior to the cards being dealt. Stand - If you are pleased with your first two cards, you would then stand and not draw anymore cards. Aces receive only one additional card. After splitting, A-10 counts as 21 and not as blackjack. Split - If your first two cards are of the same value, you can split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet of equal value and drawing cards as usual. Note that at many online casinos, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. Any other card means a win for the dealer. Jacks, Queens and Kings always have a value of 10. The dealer must draw on 16 and stand on 17. When you think that the dealer has blackjack, it gives you a chance to guard your bet. The insurance bet would be at the price of half your original bet. If you and the dealer both have blackjack, the game ends in a push.
