Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. Let's take a look at the basic rules of play. The dealer then deals two cards to each of the players, and two to himself (one of the dealer's cards is dealt face up and one is dealt facing down) Aces have a value of either 1 or 11, face cards as 10 and the cards that are left are valued as their face numbers. if the dealer has a blackjack, it is a standoff, as are all ties or pushes. A winning blackjack pays the player 3 to 2. Blackjack beats a count of 21. Hit - If you are not pleased with the total of your first two cards, you can draw additional card(s) until you stand or bust. Some casinos refer to hitting as draw. SPLITTING PAIRS - If the first two cards a player is dealt are a pair, he may split them into two separate hands, bet the same amount on each and then play them separately. Aces receive only one additional card. Note that at many online casinos, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. Card between 2 and 10 simply have their face value regardless of suit. Note that at some online casinos, you cannot split a split hand. An Ace can count as 1 or 11 depending on what is most beneficial to your hand. Player's add the value of their cards and either decide to "Stick" or "Stand" with their current cards or receive another card, called a "Hit" or "Draw," hopefully raising their total closer to 21 without going over. Once all players have decided to "Stand," the dealer reveals the face down card known as the "Hole" card. If the dealer's hand is between 17 and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. If you have purchased insurance and the dealer doesn't have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet. If you and the dealer both have blackjack, the game ends in a push.
