In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. The dealer then deals two cards to each of the players, and two to himself (one of the dealer's cards is dealt face up and one is dealt facing down) BLACKJACK - If the player's first two cards are an ace and a 10 or face card, he wins. The object of the game is to obtain a hand of cards totaling up to 21 or as close to 21 as possible without going over. Blackjack beats a count of 21. If the player hits and busts (goes over 21), he immediately turns his cards over and his wager is lost. DOUBLE DOWN - The player is allowed to double the bet on his first two cards and draw one additional card only to improve his hand. Tables and online casinos will have a minimum bet required to play the game. Aces receive only one additional card. If you have been dealt two cards and think that a third card may give you a chance to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. If the dealer's down card is a 10 or any face card, the player wins 2 to 1. Note that at some online casinos, you cannot split a split hand. An Ace can count as 1 or 11 depending on what is most beneficial to your hand. When you think that the dealer has blackjack, it gives you a chance to guard your bet. If the dealer's hand is between 17 and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. If the dealer has blackjack, the insurance pays 2:1, matching the amount of your original bet. If you have purchased insurance and the dealer doesn't have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet.
