Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. Let's take a look at the basic rules of play. If the dealer's down card is a 10 or any face card, the player wins 2 to 1. Any other card means a win for the dealer. Jacks, Queens and Kings always have a value of 10. When you think that the dealer has blackjack, it gives you a chance to guard your bet. The insurance bet would be at the price of half your original bet. Surrender is not offered at very many online casinos. When surrender is available, if you are not pleased with the cards you were dealt, you may give them up and lose half of your bet.
