In Blackjack, the objective is to try to beat the dealer by getting closer to 21. If you have a blackjack hand, you win 3:2 times your bet (example - a $5 bet will win $7.50), as long as the dealer does not have blackjack. BLACKJACK - If the player's first two cards are an ace and a 10 or face card, he wins. One to either Five or Seven players at a table. A winning blackjack pays the player 3 to 2. HIT or STAND - Hit means to draw another card (which the player signifies by scraping the table with his cards or a similar hand motion) The dealer must draw cards until they have at least 17 and must stand at 17 or higher. If the player hits and busts (goes over 21), he immediately turns his cards over and his wager is lost. DOUBLE DOWN - The player is allowed to double the bet on his first two cards and draw one additional card only to improve his hand. Tables and online casinos will have a minimum bet required to play the game. Double Down - Your bet is doubled and you draw only one more card. After splitting, A-10 counts as 21 and not as blackjack. Split - If your first two cards are of the same value, you can split them into two separate hands by placing a second bet of equal value and drawing cards as usual. When you split two aces and one of your hands totals 21, this is not blackjack, it's 21. The dealer must draw on 16 and stand on 17. When you think that the dealer has blackjack, it gives you a chance to guard your bet. Play and win! If the dealer's hand is between 17 and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. If you and the dealer both have blackjack, the game ends in a push. Surrender is not offered at very many online casinos. When surrender is available, if you are not pleased with the cards you were dealt, you may give them up and lose half of your bet.
