If the total value of your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's hand, you win an equal amount to what you have bet. Standard 52-card deck. BLACKJACK - If the player's first two cards are an ace and a 10 or face card, he wins. If the total of your hand is over 21, you'll bust and lose your bet. HIT or STAND - Hit means to draw another card (which the player signifies by scraping the table with his cards or a similar hand motion) The dealer must draw cards until they have at least 17 and must stand at 17 or higher. If the player hits and busts (goes over 21), he immediately turns his cards over and his wager is lost. Some casinos refer to hitting as draw. Stand - If you are pleased with your first two cards, you would then stand and not draw anymore cards. Once all bets are placed, each player and the dealer will receive two cards. If you have been dealt two cards and think that a third card may give you a chance to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. Depending on the game, the player's are either dealt their cards face up or face down. Note that at some online casinos, you cannot split a split hand. An Ace can count as 1 or 11 depending on what is most beneficial to your hand. Player's add the value of their cards and either decide to "Stick" or "Stand" with their current cards or receive another card, called a "Hit" or "Draw," hopefully raising their total closer to 21 without going over. If the dealer's hand is between 17 and 21, he or she may not draw any additional card. When surrender is available, if you are not pleased with the cards you were dealt, you may give them up and lose half of your bet.
