Before any cards are dealt, the player must wager. Standard 52-card deck. BLACKJACK - If the player's first two cards are an ace and a 10 or face card, he wins. One to either Five or Seven players at a table. The object of the game is to obtain a hand of cards totaling up to 21 or as close to 21 as possible without going over. Going over 21 is called "Busting. Stand means no more cards (which the player signals by placing his cards under his wager or moving his hand in a horizontal direction. DOUBLE DOWN - The player is allowed to double the bet on his first two cards and draw one additional card only to improve his hand. If you have been dealt two cards and think that a third card may give you a chance to beat the dealer's hand, you can double down. Depending on the game, the player's are either dealt their cards face up or face down. Note that at many online casinos, if you split two aces, you get only one additional card for each hand. Card between 2 and 10 simply have their face value regardless of suit. The dealer must draw on 16 and stand on 17. If the dealer's first card is an ace and if you think that the dealer's hole card is of value 10, you can buy insurance against dealer blackjack. If you have purchased insurance and the dealer doesn't have blackjack, you'll lose your insurance bet.
